We have gotten quite used of his attempts at "flying" throughout the house, his "over loaded" jumping efforts.......which at times land him in precarious positions on the desk, counters, over the top of the sofa and on my head..... He likes to "save" his milk bones for snacks later ....and will bury them in the "spot of the day" (under the pillow, in the woodpile, in my shoes, or just run around with as many as he can fit in his mouth!) He loves our 25 lb "monster" cat...and affectionately practices Cat Tipping....butting his head under the cat and trying to tip him over. If that fails he gets a good running start and Body Checks him. The cat is tolerant, as long as food is nearby! The other cat , being more mellow, took a bit longer to warm up to Hoovers antics. I think Hoover understood this when I discovered the cat sitting in a box, and Hoover, the good buddy that he is, sitting right next to him with a look on his face saying "What ARE we waiting for?"
He greets us with a "welcome home" toy in his mouth, likes to "steal" one little thing just to wag his tail and look at you with a "I did it, I did it!" bark, and when it's finally bedtime, he brings a toy to bed........runs back upstairs and gets his midnight milk bone snack...brings that to bed and snuggles into us with much groaning, pushing and moaning. The feeling is beyond compare. I can't begin to tell you what Hoover has done for our relationship (okay, maybe the milk bone crumbs in bed didn't help), our outlook, our day, our hearts. He is one very special dog.............and I can't thank his rescuers enough for helping to bring him into our life. You not only helped him, but us as well.
